Heading the Northern division, Leah is a Senior Associate and Chartered Legal Executive Advocate bringing over 15 years’ experience in providing criminal defence representation across a diverse range of cases.
 

Leah represents clients in police custody and voluntary attendees at Police Interviews and conducts her own advocacy in the Magistrates’ Court and at inquests. Her expertise spans the full spectrum of criminal case preparation up to the Crown Court and Court of Appeal.
 

Recognized for her warm and attentive manner, Leah is highly regarded for her ability to build trust and put clients at ease. She prioritises spending significant time with clients, particularly in the early stages of a case, ensuring they fully understand the criminal procedure, defence prospects, and timescales.
 

Committed to securing the best possible outcomes, Leah tirelessly supports individuals who may be facing the loss of their liberty or career. She provides unwavering guidance and attention throughout what is often a very difficult and stressful process.

Motoring Offences

 

Leah is highly experienced in defending individuals facing road traffic offences from low level speeding tickets, fail to provide information and drink driving up to more serious allegations including causing death by dangerous driving and causing death by careless driving. Her exceptional success rate with totting disqualifications and exceptional hardship applications reflects her meticulous approach and dedication.

General Crime

 

Starting her career as an accredited police station representative, Leah has built extensive experience in defending suspects and defendants across the entire spectrum of criminal offences. Her representation spans cases involving the Dangerous Dogs Act, Harassment and Stalking, Serious Assault, Murder, Rape, Drug-related offences and Burglary.

Pre-Charge Engagement

 

Leah is one of our specialists in pre-charge engagement, a process in which we engage with the police or prosecuting authority to prevent charges from being brought or getting charges dropped before they get to court.  Leah is known for her strategic and robust approach and not being afraid to stand up to the police and prosecuting authorities.

Neurodiverse Clients

With a deep understanding of neurodiversity, Leah has a particular focus on representing individuals with autism, autistic spectrum disorders, and ADHD, some with pronounced challenges who require ongoing support. She is known for her compassionate and empathetic approach, ensuring that every client is treated with dignity, fairness, and understanding.
