The Workers (Predictable Terms and Conditions) Bill received Royal Assent on 19 September 2023.

It is happening and it is unavoidable.

The Workers Bill makes new provisions in Chapter 2 Part 8A and a new Chapter 3 of the Employment Rights Act 1996, to introduce the new statutory right for workers to request a predictable working pattern. The new provisions also:-

  1. Set out the eligibility criteria for exercising the right to request a more predictable working pattern.

  2. Set out grounds on which an application may be refused.

  3. Set out the duties of the employer, agency, and hirers when the application for a more predictable working pattern is made.

  4. Set out the circumstances under which a worker may make a complaint to an employment tribunal and the remedies an employment tribunal may award.

For more information about when the changes will be enforced and the impact it will have on your business and your hirers, please contact kareena@lmplegal.co.uk to arrange a free consultation.
