The Workers (Predictable Terms and Conditions) Bill received Royal Assent on 19 September 2023.
It is happening and it is unavoidable.
The Workers Bill makes new provisions in Chapter 2 Part 8A and a new Chapter 3 of the Employment Rights Act 1996, to introduce the new statutory right for workers to request a predictable working pattern. The new provisions also:-
Set out the eligibility criteria for exercising the right to request a more predictable working pattern.
Set out grounds on which an application may be refused.
Set out the duties of the employer, agency, and hirers when the application for a more predictable working pattern is made.
Set out the circumstances under which a worker may make a complaint to an employment tribunal and the remedies an employment tribunal may award.
